With goalie Boomer Missing in Action and no EBUG available, Red and White were forced to pass Goalie Paul back and forth like an unwanted stepchild Sunday afternoon at Frear Park. The no-goalie team played with six skaters, and the result, as one would expect, was 16 goals spread almost evenly between “winning” White (9) and “losing” Red (7). Goalie Paul reportedly asked to be given two wins for the effort but was turned down by the Department of Scoresheet Analysis. However, since the DSA is unable to determine how many goals were scored on him, he is granted a shutout until someone rats him out.
With the “win,” White becomes Second Place Champion, Gold is named Third Place Champion and Red finishes as one of the four best teams in the league. Congratulations to all. Red and White close out the season next Sunday, if enough people decide to show up.
Don’t forget to tell your captain that you are definitely attending the season-ending banquet March 24, 4-6 pm at the Hangar in Troy. Hosted by MC Fudge and featuring the always entertaining and insulting Fudgie AwardsTM, the banquet is the social event of the season and not to be missed. Details follow.
