Banquet banter: Fudgie Awards highlight postseason ceremonies

MC Fudge attempts to settle the unruly audience.

MC Fudge presided over the year-end CDMHC banquet at the illustrious Hanger in Troy on Sunday. The beer and abuse flowed as expected. Highlights included a suspicious financial report submitted via carrier pigeon by Pete H, from an undisclosed location, claiming the CDMHC had a “good year” though it finished in the red. The league’s Very Stable Geniuses were praised for their diligent work dealing with the many snow- and shithole-related game postponements. And the Green team finally gelled, winning the lion’s share of raffle items to offset its record-setting season of losing.

Below are the list of winners–or losers, depending on your point of view.

And so ends another rollicking season of CDMHC hockey. Thanks to MC Fudge and Mrs. Fudge for hosting the banquet, to the staff at the Hanger for their hospitality, to the Very Stable Geniuses who successfully herd us old cats through the winter, and to everyone who supports the blog with jokes, letters, photos and gossip to remind us that the CDMHC is where hockey careers go to die.

The Shongar Brothers re-enact their earlier performance as the Hanson Brothers.

As always, this is your Blogmaster General signing off with best wishes for a happy and healthy summer. See you at the Capital Cup. If not, see you next season. If not, I will speak well of you at your funeral.
